A disposable absorbent article in the form of a diaper or absorbent pant, comprising a central chassis structure having a longitudinal axis, front and rear end edges and left and right side edges, and comprising: a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet; left and right longitudinal barrier cuffs disposed respectively proximate the left and right side edges, each barrier cuff having a base portion joining to one or both of the topsheet and backsheet, a longitudinally-oriented, barrier cuff free edge, and a longitudinally elasticized band portion, the elasticized band portion comprising: a first plurality of at least 25 laterally-spaced elastic strands, the strands having an Average Decitex no greater than 300 decitex, with lateral Average-Strand-Spacing no greater than 3.0 mm; the first plurality of elastic strands being joined with at least a first layer of nonwoven web material; the first plurality of elastic strands having an Average-Pre-Strain no greater than 250 percent; and wherein the first plurality of elastic strands is disposed between the first layer of nonwoven web material and a second layer of nonwoven web material and wherein the first and second layers of nonwoven web material are adhered together by adhesive.
